Broiler Research II
Shows Control of Aflatoxins
The following research shows
Zar-Min Natural Zeolite Feed
Additive to be effective and that
it more than offsets the detrimental
effects of aflatoxin contaminated feed.
Control of Aflatoxins: Summary and Conclusions
The broilers fed the Zar-Min Natural Zeolite Feed Additive rations containing 115 ppb aflatoxin had a lower feed conversion by 1.1 points and higher body weight by 3.7 points than the broilers fed rations containing no Zar-Min and no aflatoxin.
Trial Data
Strain: Peterson x Arbor Acres
Sex: Mixed
Aflatoxin: Naturally Contaminated Corn
Replications: 5 of 80 Birds each
Vaccination: Marek’s Disease and Newcastle-Bronchitis
Antibiotic: Bacitracin
Feeding 10 kgs. (20 lbs.) Zar-Min per tonne (ton) of finished feed containing 115 ppb of aflatoxin improved the feed conversion by 5.8 points and the body weight by 5.3 points versus the 115 ppb aflatoxin control. This result is statistically significant at the 95% level of confidence.

- The Zar-Min and Positive Control Rations contained a total of 115 ppb aflatoxin derived from naturally contaminated corn. The Negative control Rations tested negative for aflatoxins.
